TCU’s Hughes named Lott Player of Week

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – TCU Defensive End Jerry Hughes has been named the Lott Trophy IMPACT Player of the Week. Hughes, a 6-3, 257-pound senior from Sugar Land, Texas had eight tackles, including 2.5 for losses and 1.5 sacks in a 55-28 win over Utah that kept the Horned Frogs undefeated at 10-0. Hughes, a Lott Trophy semi-finalist, leads TCU with 10.5 sacks, 13 tackles for losses and six quarterback hurries. Voters for the award include selected members of the national media, previous finalists, the Board of Directors of the IMPACT Foundation, the IMPACT Foundation Board of Advisors comprised of retired NFL players and the Legends Coaches, a distinguished group of former college head coaches.
