The Legends finally made the turn toward the Tide. Alabama, which quickly moved up the Legends Poll the first half of the season, passed Florida this week to take the top spot.

Just barely.

The Tide received nine first-place votes to Florida’s eight ….

College football’s fourth-ranked team checks in at No. 66 in the nation in rushing, No. 86 in passing efficiency and No. 99 in total offense.

No wonder the Legends don’t give LSU a chance Saturday against Florida — even at night in Death Valley, where top-five Tiger teams rarely tumble.

Broyles Award Finalists for 2008

The Broyles Award, named after Arkansas Coaching Legend Frank Broyles, is given annually to college football’s top assistant coach.  The award will be presented by the Downtown Rotary Club of Little Rock on December 9, at the Doubletree Hotel in Little Rock.
