True freshman Tate Forcier displayed the poise of a fifth year senior as he led the Michigan Wolverines over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 38-34.  Forcier was 23 of 33 passing with two touchdowns, one interception and 240 yards.  He also had seventy yards and one touchdown rushing.  In the winning drive, beginning with just over two minutes to play, Forcier was six of seven for 57 yards.  The last touchdown pass to senior Greg Mathews was with only eleven seconds remaining.  Forcier, was able to think and respond on his feet making a number of good decisions under pressure.

“Tate’s a unique individual,” Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said. “Some guys, when everything’s going crazy around them, you can see them change their personality and Tate’s just the opposite.”

For his great play, Tate Forcier is awarded the “Legends Nike Game Ball” for the National Offensive Player of the Week.
