The 6th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels looked strong in a 52-6 rout of Southeast Louisiana on Saturday. Led by true freshman D.T. Shackelford, the Rebs held the Lions to 0-for-14 on third down conversions and a total of 302 yards. Shackelford recovered two fumbles and scored on a 58-yard interception return. Head Coach Houston Nutt said Shackelford “is tough, physical, absorbs the playbook and he’s a winner.”
For his great play, D.T. Shackelford is awarded the “Legends Nike Game Ball” for the National Defensive Player of the Week.
