ATLANTA (September 3, 2008) – The Alabama Crimson Tide sent chills up the spine of every coach in the Southeastern Conference on Saturday night as they trounced the best the ACC had to offer in the Clemson Tigers. Clemson’s highly touted backfield duo netted a total of zero rushing yards in the game, as Bama dominated 34-10. Kevin Steele’s game plan was executed to perfection, as his defense did not allow a touchdown, and held the Clemson offense to just 188 total yards. The Tide defense added an interception and sacked Cullen Harper three times in the victory.

For his team’s great play, Kevin Steele is awarded the “Legends Nike Game Ball” for the National Defensive Coordinator of the Week.

Each week during the 2008 college football season, the Legends Football Coaches Association (LFCA) will award a Legends Nike Game Ball to the respective schools of a National offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week. The LFCA will also present a game ball to the Offensive and Defensive Coordinator whose game plans made the biggest impact in their respective teams’ victory.

In addition to Steele, the LFCA will also award Legends Nike Game Balls to BYU quarterback Max Hall, Kentucky defensive tackle Myron Pryor, Utah kicker/punter Louie Sakoda and UCLA offensive coordinator Norm Chow.
