ATLANTA (September 3, 2008) – With a bevy of talent gone from last year’s outstanding offense, the Kentucky Wildcats entered the 2008 season knowing that their defense would have to carry the team. Defensive tackle Myron Pryor and the Wildcat defense did just that, holding in-state rival Louisville out of the end zone in the 27-2 win. “Our defense took it upon themselves to score points. Our defense kept making play after play after play,” Kentucky head coach Rich Brooks said. Pryor delivered the play of the game when he scooped up the Hunter Cantwell fumble and rumbled 72 yards for the final Kentucky touchdown. Pryor added 3 solo tackles, including one for a loss.

For his stellar play, Myron Pryor is awarded the “Legends Nike Game Ball” for the National Defensive Player of the Week.

Each week during the 2008 college football season, the Legends Football Coaches Association (LFCA) will award a Legends Nike Game Ball to the respective schools of a National Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week. The LFCA will also present a game ball to the Offensive and Defensive Coordinator whose game plans made the biggest impact in their respective teams’ victory.

In addition to Pryor, the LFCA will also award Legends Nike Game Balls to BYU quarterback Max Hall, Utah kicker/punter Louie Sakoda, UCLA offensive coordinator Norm Chow and Alabama defensive coordinator Kevin Steele.
