For the first time this year, the top 5 remained unchanged in the Scripps Legends Poll.

Top-ranked Alabama, No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 5 Stanford all won easily, while No. 4 Wisconsin had an off weekend.

Oklahoma took three first place votes away from Alabama, after the third-ranked Sooners blew out Texas, 55-17. Texas fell 13 spots to No. 23.

“Oklahoma’s offensive line has really improved,” former Air Force coach Fisher DeBerry said. “And I think (quarterback) Landry Jones is starting to figure out how to play in big games and on the road. And with that dominant defense, they are obviously going to be tough to beat.”

The Sooner’s in-state rival Oklahoma State continued its climb in the Scripps Legends Poll, moving up a spot to No. 6.

“You know Oklahoma State probably has the best receiver in the country in (Justin) Blackmon,” DeBerry said. “I know there are a lot of other great receivers across the country, but this guy makes unbelievable catches. But for Oklahoma State, I think the real question is how strong their defense is going to be down the stretch.”

No. 7 Boise State fell another spot in the rankings despite a 57-7 victory over Fresno State on Friday night. No. 8 Clemson and No. 9 Oregon didn’t move this week, but were followed by No. 10 Michigan, which made its first top 10 appearance in several years.

No. 24 Florida had the second biggest freefall in the rankings, dropping eight spots after falling 41-11 at No. 2 LSU — its second straight huge loss to an SEC West team.

No. 17 Kansas State, No. 19 South Carolina, No. 20 Baylor and No. 24 Texas A&M all moved up three spots in the poll, the biggest of the week. No. 11 Arkansas and No. 15 Virginia Tech moved up two spots.

No. 22 Michigan State and No. 25 Washington were newcomers to the rankings, while Auburn and USC fell out of the top 25.
